These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Altrincham Handyman website and services. By accessing our website or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of these Terms, please do not use our services.

1. Services

Altrincham Handyman provides professional handyman services including, but not limited to:

  • Plumbing repairs and installations
  • Electrical work
  • Carpentry and joinery
  • Painting and decorating
  • Furniture assembly
  • General property maintenance

All services are subject to availability and will be provided in accordance with industry standards and applicable regulations.

2. Quotes and Pricing

  • All quotes provided are estimates based on the information given and are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated.
  • Final costs may vary if additional work is discovered or if the scope of work changes.
  • Any significant changes to the quoted price will be communicated to you before proceeding with the work.
  • Prices include labor unless otherwise specified. Materials may be charged separately.
  • Payment terms will be agreed upon before work commences.

3. Appointments and Cancellations

Scheduling: Appointments will be scheduled at mutually agreed times. We will make every effort to arrive within the agreed timeframe.

Cancellations: If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please provide at least 24 hours' notice. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice may incur a cancellation fee.

Access: You must ensure that we have appropriate access to the work area and that the area is clear and safe for work to be performed.

4. Payment Terms

  • Payment is due upon completion of work unless alternative arrangements have been agreed in writing.
  • We accept payment by cash, bank transfer, or card (where available).
  • For larger projects, we may request a deposit before commencing work.
  • Invoices not paid within 30 days may incur late payment charges.
  • We reserve the right to charge interest on overdue payments at a rate of 8% above the Bank of England base rate.

5. Warranty and Guarantees

  • We guarantee all workmanship for a period of 12 months from the date of completion, unless otherwise specified.
  • This guarantee covers defects in workmanship only and does not cover normal wear and tear, misuse, or damage caused by third parties.
  • Manufacturer warranties on materials and products are passed on to you where applicable.
  • To make a warranty claim, you must notify us in writing within a reasonable time of discovering the defect.

6. Limitation of Liability

  • We carry public liability insurance to cover accidental damage or injury arising from our work.
  • We will not be liable for any indirect, consequential, or special damages arising from our services.
  • Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific service in question.
  • We are not liable for pre-existing conditions or defects that we were not made aware of.
  • Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law.

7. Customer Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information about the work required
  • Ensure safe and reasonable access to the work area
  • Inform us of any known hazards or special requirements
  • Obtain any necessary permissions or permits for the work
  • Remove or protect valuable items in the work area
  • Ensure pets are secured during our visit

8. Intellectual Property

All content on our website, including text, graphics, logos, and images, is the property of Altrincham Handyman and protected by copyright laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any content without our written permission.

9. Complaints Procedure

If you are not satisfied with our services:

  • Contact us immediately to discuss your concerns
  • We will investigate the issue and respond within 5 working days
  • If the issue is not resolved to your satisfaction, we will arrange for an independent assessment
  • We aim to resolve all complaints fairly and promptly

10. Force Majeure

We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, severe weather, strikes, or government restrictions.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

12. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to our website. Your continued use of our services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
